New Sustainable and Ethical brands launching every Friday here at R2R.city!

COMMUNITY

Much like it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a community to change the culture of consumption. This community is comprised of a global ecological family. The conscious consumer way is to learn about a brand before supporting them. We invite you to take some time and learn about who is behind R2R and the products we partner with.

CREATIVE DIRECTOR
BIO: Ashleigh Morgan fell in love with fashion while pursuing her studies, at the age of 17. At 19 and with a vision, she created Recycle2Riches. Her main goal is to collaborate with amazing and SMART transparent brands around the world. She believes that fast fashion and over consumption is not the way to shop. Ashleigh believes that everything can be used for something and that the earth can help us preserve the future for generations to come.

MORE ABOUT THE BRAND

BIO: Arsayo is the story of a name, or rather three first names, Ary, Sabine and Yoni, for 2 brothers and a sister who followed their father. This is the story of a bag that is a little bit special, a little original. A fashionable and ergonomic backpack, which can be slipped on like a jacket to better fit the shape of the body, it is a bag that exists in all sizes, to adapt perfectly to each body type, it is a secured bag, impossible to open by someone else when it is carried on the back, it is an ethical bag, which does not pollute and whose manufacture encourages and promotes stable jobs, it is a bag which does not no harm animals. (even indirectly). To sum up, Arsayo is a little more than a backpack, it is a fashionable accessory, a life accessory.

Note from founder : CARLEY PULFORD

A number of years back, my friend made me conscious of ALL the unnecessary plastics in our life. Then, my sister in law educated me on ALL the harmful chemicals in our everyday products. Little by little I noticed it became harder and harder to shop. Almost everything has unnecessary plastic packaging and ingredients that I didn’t want for our family.
I had visited a zero waste store in Vancouver and the idea to offer products that are safe for both us and the planet seemed so logical.

BIO: It’s plain and simple, really. I had no choice but to become an artist. I was placed in a long line of brains that have to exude talent from their fingers whether that be by paint, camera, by worship, by music, by drawing, bleaching articles of clothing, koi ponds, delivering mail, or planting enormous amounts of bulbs every spring, you name it, our family dabbled in it. Just so happens, God gave me paint. I like paint. I like the way it smells and gets in your fingernails and ends up on all of your favorite clothes. I love that it drips & mingles & the way oils look right next to each other.

BIO:  Hi, we’re Jesse and Rachel, husband and wife yoga teachers and founders of KOOSHOO. Lovely to meet you. KOOSHOO was founded for a simple reason: to help others feel good. That includes everyone from the individuals growing the crops right through to you, the end consumer. We achieve this by operating our business with the core values of honesty, transparency and love. Our immediate family may be small - the two of us plus Jack in Sales, Claire in Marketing, Cami on Social Media and Gen in PR - but our extended family is made up of talented individuals around the world. We are dedicated to finding and working alongside ethical and sustainable companies in the fashion industry. This has led us to work with family businesses in LA and India that weave, dye, cut, sew and package our products. It’s their beautiful work that brings these products to life. Then there are the friends, new and old, with all their support and encouragement that make KOOSHOO what it is. This, of course, includes you. Thank you! In Hawaiian there is a word for family called “ohana”. With 'ohana' it’s understood that family is there to help uplift each other so there is never anyone left behind. This is how we view KOOSHOO - as our Ohana - and for this reason we're proud to use Fair Trade certified garment facilities and organic cotton crops, ensuring workers throughout our supply chain are treated like family.

BIO: Natural, sustainable, and long-lasting New England sheep-inspired home goods for you. Herd Supply Co is a small, woman-owned and operated business. Originally I started crafting sheep’s milk soap and felting wool for dryer balls in my parents’ kitchen. More recently, the mission of the company has taken on a bigger challenge. Nearly 40% of American wool goes to waste each year and Herd Supply can change that by supplying customers with American sheep and wool products. My goal for the business is to help people move away from petroleum products like polyester to more sustainable options like wool and hemp. To do that, I bring more shepherds and shearers into the fold. I originally sourced all wool from my parents’ farm, but now I work with a few farms in Connecticut, one farm in Maine, and a shearer in Vermont. This year’s goal is to source and process 1,000 pounds of wool with the ultimate goal of making wool filled pet beds and pillows! I believe sheep are part of the solution in creating a plan to eliminate climate change through carbon farming. My handmade business will focus on sheep milk and wool products to create quality home goods for customers to hold and to hold on to. We hope you enjoy them! -Note from the owner, Leah Beckett.

BIO: She came up with a no-nonsense solution for individuals looking to drastically reduce their daily plastic use. Marina Qutab, founder of {Zero} Waste Kit, has been living the zero waste lifestyle for the past 3 years. As she became a pro at sending practically nothing to the landfill, she came to realize living this way was anything but convenient. Noticing a void in the market and demand from her social media following for a product that made living sustainably easy, she conceived of and created {Zero} Waste Kit - your basic toolkit for taking on the world like a zero waste badass. The average American creates 4.5 pounds of waste a day, and Marina is on a mission to change that statistic among other daunting statistics of our time by empowering people with the tools, convenience and mindsets they need to make a difference starting today.

BIO: I was flossing my teeth after lunch one day when the thought crossed my mind that someone should make a prettier floss container. Fast forward 15 years and that is what I set out to do. I had no background in business; I just started talking to people I trusted and did what came naturally to me as a career librarian... I researched. Along the way, I found out that for every person in the U.S. who flosses their teeth according to ADA recommendations, just the empty floss dispensers alone would fill a landfill the size of a football field six stories high. My mission changed from creating a pretty floss container to embarking on a journey to eliminate plastic dental floss altogether. Today, Dental Lace Refillable Floss is the only fashionable refillable eco-friendly dental floss on the market. Every time we sell one glass container, it replaces seven plastic containers. I'm proud to bring a product to the market that can help us all protect our natural resources. Dental Lace is a refillable dental floss and 99% zero waste product. A glass container with a stainless-steel cap holds floss that is 100% Mulberry silk. The refill bags are certified compostable and the boxes are 100% post-consumer paperboard. The container can be re-used, the bags composted, the boxes recycled and the floss biodegrades. The only waste is the waterproof label on the container, which stays on the reusable container. I am grateful for the support of my friends, family, and especially my husband, Jim, during this journey from school librarian to entrepreneur. From neighbors helping with product assembly to the many resources my local library has made available, it truly has been a community effort.
Thank you for your business!
Jodi Breau

BIO: Rachel and Brittani met while working for a Health + Wellness driven company. Both obsessed with natural, holistic skincare and other wellness products, we always dreamed of starting our own business offering the skincare products that we had already been testing and using ourselves for years.

Being already in the wellness industry, we were able to see the ins and outs of companies that were marketing themselves to be "healthy" or "sustainable" but knew that the truth behind the scenes was often a little different. We knew that we could do better but we weren’t sure where, when, or even how to start. When we were both suddenly let go of our jobs on the same day, we know it was time. That was the day Lumi Basics was born and we never looked back.

BIO: We only use natural and safe ingredients in our products. We strive to limit our footprint, so we use recyclable packaging and reduce our plastic use. We source our THC Free Broad Spectrum Hemp Extract from the highest-quality hemp in Colorado and put it through rigorous 3rd party testing. And if something doesn’t work for you, we will work tirelessly to find a solution that does.

An ethical and sustainable bikini company that won't leave you eating cups of noodles till your next pay day. Our fun and flirty styles are inspired by our upbringing, our surroundings and the ever changing trends.  We divide our time between Lulo  and raising our families.  So you will either find us building our business or building sand castles.

BIO: Since our founding in 2012, it has always been about more than cups.
“We believe no one should be held back by their body. We believe period products should not contain harmful chemicals nor absorb natural bodily secretions, resulting in infections. Periods should not be the cause of major pollution. And they should never, ever be a source of shame.”
Those four sentences have been, and continue to be, our guiding principles.
Our #NewPeriod manifesto is the measuring stick we turn to in every decision we make:
Making products for, and with, the people who use them, putting sustainability at the centre of our business, committing to honest and transparent communication, and making a positive impact on environmental, cultural and social scales.
On this page we have mapped out our journey, growth and achievements over the past years, and share some of the fun and interesting milestones!

BIO: 90’s fashion is back baby, and dare we say it - here to stay! Jess Cole grew up in the 90’s, and while just about everything pop culture ROCKED, far and away the best thing about the decade was the rise of SCRUNCHIES. So naturally, when scrunchies made their way back into present day fashion, she was stoked! She bought countless scrunchies from various retailers and had the same constant problem: they all sucked. They were cheap, poorly made, and struggled to keep my long, full hair secure. In addition, it seemed like everyone was selling the same types of scrunchies: velvet + weird midi sizes. Where’s the fabric/pattern/sizing varieties people?? After assessing the sad collection Jess had accumulated, she decided to start making my own scrunchies. Just like that Fly and Proper was born.

BIO: Blue Heron Botanicals is the passion project born to owner Theora as a young woman living on the Lake Champlain Islands of Vermont.  Growing up in a quaint island town nestled between the Adirondack Mountains of New York and the Green Mountains of Vermont Theora learned the importance of responsible and self sustainable living at a young age.  Theora’s childhood home is where her deep love of Mother Earth was nurtured by her homesteading parents and where she fell in love with the eternally majestic Great Blue Heron, a welcomed and much anticipated symbol of spring on the lake.  Harnessing the rejuvenating energy of spring and the resilient spirit of the Heron, Theora began to create small batch salves and balms that allowed her family’s delicate skin the opportunity to rebound from the harsh conditions to which it was seasonally subjected.

A PART OF THE ECO KIDS COLLECTION
BIO: Our mission is to give more clothing a second life through eco-friendly outfitting. The average American throws out 81 lbs of clothing each year and only 10-20% of all clothing donations actually find new homes. Our landfills are piling up with usable clothing, adding to the pollution challenge of our generation and threatening the future our children will inherit. We want to change that. Originally conceived by Melissa Gerber inside the Loyola Marymount University’s MBA Program, Deux Life has grown into a nationwide wardrobe curation service that offers gently-used, brand-name children’s clothing at secondhand prices. By mindfully collecting, inspecting, and curating pre-owned pieces we’re extending the life of America’s clothing and providing an affordable option to parents of fast-growing children. And to be sure all the items we rescue find a home, we gift 1 of every 5 boxes we curate to an underprivileged child via our partners at local schools and participating charities. Together, we're bringing thrifting into the future, reducing America’s carbon footprint, and giving more clothing a second life.
HOW IT WORKS:
1. Pick your style - Are you looking for a trendy look to wear to school? Or an athletic style for play time?
